A Million Women for Climate Change

8 February 2010 2 Comments

Environmental activist Natalie Isaacs has started an initiative in Australia called One Million Women, which is an effort to bring about personal change to affect global warming outside of waiting on government intervention.  While many environmentalists take a government-knows-best attitude, Isaacs feels it’s not always about big government or big business and is encouraging one million women to reduce their individual carbon emissions by one ton over one year.  I’m assuming soccer moms with SUVs need not apply.

Surely a single-sex, discriminatory organisation like this is not at all inclusive and will not be supported by any right-thinking woman. I expect street protests imminently.

Come on, John. Don’t you know by now that you can be exclusionary, divisive and discriminatory unless you’re a male with a Judeo-Christian heritage. Or a global warming denier. :)

You’re right on. Where’s the outrage? We have to work together, hold hands, sing songs and save mother earth or gaia or whatever they’re calling the planet this week.
